These photos aren't the best but it's what I have to work with. One day I'll know how to take proper photos of clothing. As for these kiddos: I have permission from their mother (also pictured) to post.
The grand majority of the work here belongs to my teacher, JoAnn. We were in a massive time rush and since she has 70+ years of experience and I have just 3... Well, it was a lot better for her to do the heavy lifting and get it done rather than sit over my shoulder instructing me on the steps. That said - I did do most of the slip work (not pictured), hand stitched all the clasps and hook-and-eyes in, and finished the older girl's dress's front hem by hand because all that beading can't go into the sewing machine.
The top two photos show our start, the wedding dress that she brought to us to be used as, essentially, material fabric. I chopped off the back panel (there on the floor) which had the two bead designs on each of the new dresses. We were able to maintain those patterns in almost their entirety, only a few beads had to be restitched by hand (by me) and very few had to be replaced. There's enough of the original wedding dress left that a new dress could be made from it, we didn't touch the bodice at all.
