Mysterious Mysteries Revealed by pinkythepink Mysterious Mysteries Revealed by pinkythepink
:dummy: This gift hoard was in production for the last six months of 2014. I started planning in July, got totally discouraged in October, and started-finished in November. You could, then, consider this a one-month project, but there was so much more to it.

Step 1: Stalk all friends - learn their favorite colors, favorite tea, and lurk their dA favorites
Step 2: Gather materials. Jars, paper, ribbon, fabric, buttons, needles, spools, beads...
Step 3: Create paper button cards + attach buttons, needle cards
[dresses from sweetlyscrappedart.blogspot.co… and backgrounds from www.afieldjournalblog.com ]
Step 4: Create spools (beaded beads) to be later used as pendants or ornaments. [Create patterns to sell here]
Step 5: Create pincushions [Learned how to use hot glue gun]
Step 6: PHOTOS
Step 7: Mail

The recipients of Mysterious Mysteries were not aware of any part of this, just that something was going on and they were part of it. They are fabulous ladies: Mattsma Katjakay Bev-Choy Helens-Serendipity Fusainne Magical525 and SpitfireFae

These ladies have done my the pleasure of sending me gifts in the past by surprise. I'm terrible with surprises and it was really tough for me to not post anything or give it all totally away.

I'll just do a summary so this doesn't become a huge monologue like my beaded dress descriptions haha..
> Stalking was easy.
> Material gathering was harder than I wanted. Spent a great deal of time picking out fabrics - JoAnn's Craft Store gave me a panic attack (seriously, couldn't leave that store fast enough) and HobbyLobby had a very small selection [all of this in the scrap squares of course since I didn't want to get anything special cut] [another side note, neither store knew what emery was...]. The jars initially smelled really strange but running them through the dishwasher solved it.
> Card making was fun and easy, I used spares from my stash and printed on stock paper. Sewed buttons on by punching holes with needle and attaching with pink thread.
> Spools were a side adventure that started as an excuse to make a bunch of patterns to sell but then I was having too much fun and decided to include them in the mysteries. The final "hanger" they're on isn't meant to be permanent because the wire gauge I have is so thin, but I included dangly pretties anyway in case my friends want to keep them that way. Spools are technically "beaded beads" now so could be used as focals for a necklace.
> Learning how to use the hot glue gun was.... an experience....
> Mom helped with learn a cinch stitch for regular sewing to make the pincushions.
> Photos always take me forever I hate photo days :stare:
> Mail took me longer than I expected and costed much more than expected [since many of these fine ladies are over seas]

According to my wallet I will be unable to do gifts on such a mass scale again for quite a while SO I HOPE YOU LADIES LOVE THEM AND USE THEM AND I LOVE YOU GUYS okay I'm fine everything is okie-dokie.
:iconrubcheeksplz:
Final include for jars:
:bulletpink: Handmade pincushion lid, spool of thread, extra needles, needle booklets with pretty stickers, bag of favorite tea (donated by Mom), button cards, custom beaded spool, love. Most included some extra cross-stitching patterns I had from Brooke's Books.

Going to be selling Pincushion Jars and Beaded Spool Patterns via Etsy. www.etsy.com/shop/pinkythepink

That was a very lovely suprise indeed, Ashley ^_^ I love the jar, a friend gave me a similiar one (stor bought, but still cue) for christmas so I can now use one in both of my stitching spots - perfect! I'll try the tea once I get home, and can't wait to start those patterns...oh and the spool is just lovely, I will have to find a great place for that once my NCC is all set up!

*big hugs* pinkythepink you are the best ever! I really do love all the little dodads that you included. The jar is now going to be my new ORT jar and I'm always in need of a good pincushion. I had a huge grin on my face as I was going through everything and when Thomas came back he looked through them and was really enjoying looking through them as well.

I'm still trying to decide what to do with my little pendent. I'll probably end up making it into a necklace :)

This was such a wonderful thing to open, I love it all, and plan to enjoy that tea very soon.  But I have to add special mention to the spool ornament it is perfect for me, I'm trying to find a place to hang it where it can keep me company year round.

pinkythepink you are amazing - the gift is wonderful and I know all the ups and downs you had that you shared and not for a moment did I realise that one was for me till much later, so you did a grand job of keeping that bit secret! I love it all and will now have to make space on my desk to keep the jar where I can reach it

I keep picking up the pendant and moving it in my hands where the light can catch it as it makes for a lovely effect :D

I showed it to the kids and they were amazed that someone would send a gift like this to me

Thank you
