:la: I still don't post a lot of my seamstress work because A) it's difficult for me to photograph and B) most of my details are in small things, like getting a seam just right, or perfecting an enclosed section of fabric. So here's something that I think everyone will be able to see a difference on. :D

The two upper left photos are my "before" images. The first is just hanging in my washroom before I chopped it, the second is from when my friend wore it to... I believe a wedddding. Not positive. I included them so that you could see the original bead/sparkle work and the length.

The bottom left is what the waistband looks like up close now that I've done the altering. :) It was a real pain to remove the top portion of the dress safely from the bottom without ruining it so I'm pretty proud of myself with the result. The "lines" in the photo here are just shadow remnants from how I laid it down, as you can see on the other photos it doesn't have those.

And of course the leftmost photo is my final product. :la: She requested a high-low skirt which was way more effort than I anticipated it being but it came out sooooo wonderful. Now she can mix and match it with all sorts of tops and she doesn't even have to add a belt. :squee:

I did a black dress conversion for her at the same time but I don't think it's worth uploading photos. It went from a super sparkly top (much like this one) to just a regular plain black skirt so... not much to show you, it's just a tea-length black skirt now.

Process for this was (very carefully) cutting the zipper down, removing the top portion, seaming the top, removing the sparkles, seaming the top again, removing the old dress stays for the bust, serging the top, fitting, and seaming the waistband. Then fitting for the length, marking the sheer layer, cutting and finishing the sheer layer, fitting for the solid layer, cutting and finishing the solid layer, done.
