My fifth machine-sewn project was a dress shirt for my brother. I've been working with JoAnn for almost eleven months now and she informs me that I've learned more in this time than most people do in years. She introduces me to people as her protege and that just fills me with joy.

We started this in January, I think, working on it one day a week until April 21st when we finished. A lot of the weeks we ended up skipping because, like, I would get sick, or she would have a doc appointment, or work would overlap, you know. So I think this could have been done a lot faster than we did if we had really dug into it, but as such I'm happy for the pace we took because it let me learn and remember the steps a lot easier than if we had rushed.
