Description

Back on September 28th , 2015, a lovely patron of the ErinshawRespite named TaoYin dropped this short little poem for us. I asked for permission and I told him then that I didn't know how or when I would use his nice poem but that when I did it would be beautiful and worth the effort.

About the end of January I began hunting for a suitable pattern to go along with his sweet poem. Well, when I was still doing the Tons of Tiny project the silhouette of the lady was my pick for November, and obviously she didn't get done then. Her gracefulness and bouquet really go with the poem, don't you think? I redrew her pattern from the original French (at least, I think it's French) pattern in which she was named "Eva Rosenstand" and may be designed by a one "Clara Waever". From the redraw I went in and made changes to some of the structure pieces: parts of her dress got changed, there used to be a big square on her belly, I altered her lower hand, added white stitches for the cuffs and detailing, and decided to use beads. I have mentioned it about a million times, I've not been a fan of stitching seas of black ever since finishing Resonant, but it was worth it for this.

The fonts (three of them) come from the font books I've been reaching for for a decade, "365 Fonts" and "76 Fonts". Creative titles, I know. The capital letters and the regular text are two with the "WE" being the third. It took a bit of work to get everything balanced out and properly aligned and then I scooted Eva there over a bit so that her skirt was just matching up with the W. I'm really happy with the turn out. :D GraniteFire helped confirm my happiness and gave the green light for composition. Chose black cotton, green rayon for the bouquet, and metallics for the "WE".

Thanks for letting me use your poem, Tao. :blowkiss: It's beautiful. Let it be known that if I see this poem popping up on the internet you had best be sure you have TaoYin's permission to be using it.
