Based, of course, as a recolor of DukeWaxeye's character, Eumelia!
Custom - Eumelia Eriades Bead Dress by pinkythepink Chibi Eumelia Eriades by DukeWaxeye

Don't adjust your monitor! Your saturation levels are fine. Here's the first recolor of one of my custom patterns a year and a half after the original was created! Since Eumelia's colors are so well, intense, I wanted to do a more muted version so that future customers will better be able to see how playing with color can really change a whole dress. It also worked as an excuse to see if I could read my own hand-written patterns.

Changes from the original Eumelia include some obvious color mapping. For example, in the original her bodice is a separate color (to imitate a shirt and vest over a skirt) and her monochrome counterpart makes it the same color as the skirt (imitating a dress with a vest). I kept her sleeves short and made them less ball shape, likely influenced by my work on Alicia and Princess Peach's sleeves. I didn't add extra accent beads on her pockets and instead left them a vague off-black-gray color. Her bow was scrapped entirely in favor of Alicia's bow pattern.

Glass seed beads threaded with gray Japanese One G nylon make up the entirety of the dress. Rainbow white, dark black diamond, black diamond, clear silver-lined, and hematite in size 11 and 15. The buttons are metal (I'm not sure what kind makes up the hematite color) and white/silver crystal Crystaletts from my friend Sharon: www.etsy.com/shop/YadasiBeads She's done mostly in herringbone stitch, with peyote and netting for the bow, and somewhat-basic threading for the vest collar / cowl.

I used rainbow white seed beads to give it a bit more sparkle and shine. It's near impossible to photograph (the camera has to be extremely out of focus to pick up all the extra colors) but looks outstanding in the right lighting. Flat white would've been too boring.

She's not for sale right away because I intend to enter her for my second jurying attempt at the local art club, which isn't until this fall. :) If you for sure definitely 100% want to buy her I'll quote you the price and put her on reserve until after the jurying process is over. Her stand is slightly flawed and so the stick-stand cannot be removed easily (not a problem but may make dusting a bit more fiddly).

Eumelia is permanently sewn to her mannequin / dress form and cannot be removed without excessive damage and a lot of crying.
