Halloween Castle by pinkythepink Halloween Castle by pinkythepink
Here's another submission towards Mattsma's Halloween Stitchalong. :) Since I'm not actually doing the great big piece she and the others are doing, I'm just making small things along the way.

I'm not really a Halloween person but seeing as it is October, there is an event, and I did need a submission for Tons of Tiny and D.E.S.I.G.N., this piece came to be. This is my September submission technically (I just got behind). Blog post here: makeitpink.blogspot.com/2015/1…

This pattern is a freebie from "la comtesse and le point de croix", just google to find. :)

Done entirely with half stitching because I learned last time trying to do full stitches on this size fabric with two strands of thread = wanting to kill everything. Not sure what the final fate of this will be. I'm leaning towards semi-biscornu semi-pincushion.

Color Total: 1
Size: 2 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches
Time: 3.5 hours
28 count Monaco Evenweave

Simple and lovely. I love how haunting these smaller black and white Halloween pieces are.

 Thank you! This piece was a lot larger on the original pattern but I just modified it down to this size. :) Some day it'll be a great little biscornu! :la:

small but really pretty!! Love  I just don't see why you'd want to stitch with two threads on 28ct(except if you'd be also stitching over two threads of the fabric) otherwise one thread is perfectly ok for 25ct, so must be enough for 28ct.

One thread would be totally fine, I just hate sewing with one thread. It's so thin, and leaves so much space between things.

that's pretty neat.  Not often you see a full half stitch design.  At that size I totally understand!

I could see that being a hem pattern on a Lolita dress or skirt. :)

I think I may try to do it with just the castle and the bats, but not the rest. Besides, I've never done cross-stitch before  :keke: by jtorcaz

This is a perfect pattern to start on. :D It's solid stitching, one color. You don't even have to worry about backstitching, just counting the squares. :)
